Barry Southam currently lives in his earthquake recovering home town of Christchurch. He has had many different occupations, thirty-nine at the last count. They include working as a professional actor in film and television, and as an addictions counsellor in the field of mental health. While living in Auckland he was one of the city’s early performance poets. He has also lived and worked in San Francisco, Sydney, Melbourne and Wellington.
He is the author of five books of poems and short stories, and a number of radio and stage plays that have been produced both locally and internationally.
